The CDE partners with a number of key healthcare practitioner organisations, to ensure ongoing quality of care and service excellence.
These organisations assist in ensuring that practitioners who participate as providers in the Diabetes Management Programme are able to provide quality service to members.
The IPA Foundation (IPAF)
The IPAF is the largest single General Practitioner doctor network in South Africa, with over 2 800 doctors registered as members. It has a vast national footprint, with coverage of all of the urban areas in South Africa.
DESSA
The Diabetes Education Society of South Africa is a permanent member of SEMDSA, the Society for Endocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes of South Africa.
Its mission is to promote diabetes education, develop standards for diabetes education, and provide access to expertise in diabetes education for people with diabetes, their families, their communities and other health professionals.
ADSA
The Association for Dietetics in South Africa is the professional organisation for Registered Dietitians in South Africa. It assists in the development of the dietetic profession through its comprehensive Professional Development System.
DFWG
The South African Diabetic Foot Working Group (DFWG) is a voluntary association which serves as the overall representative body to promote awareness and optimal management of people with diabetic foot problems. Objectives include the prevention of amputation, promoting academic standards and the establishment of relationships amongst role players.
OSSA
Ophthalmology is the branch of medicine which deals with the diseases and surgery of the visual pathways, including the eye, brain and areas surrounding the eye. The Ophthalmological Society of South Africa promotes the interests of ophthalmology in general.
