About Us
The Centre for Diabetes and Endocrinology (CDE) was established as an example of excellence in diabetes care. This holistic, multi-specialist Centre in Houghton,
The Centre also acts as the Central Office for a Preferred Provider Network of affiliated “Centres for Diabetes” with nationwide coverage. This Provider Network was established in 1994 with 14 founding Centres and has grown steadily to reach over 230 Centres of excellence nationwide. These Accredited Centres are contracted to provide all the benefits of the Diabetes Management Programme (DMP).

The Annual CDE Postgraduate Forum in Diabetes Management - 30 July to 01 August 2010, Indaba Hotel, GP
 The CDE Diabetes Management Programme has won a PMR.africa Golden Arrow Award for 2009 in the category for Managed Health Care Companies specialising in one specialist service.
| This award reflects excellence, as rated by input from a random, national sample of 100 respondents (Chairmen and Principal Officers of listed / large companies as well as Fund Managers, Trustees, Medical Advisors / Directors and Assessors representing Medical Aid Schemes and Administrators). This is the third such award CDE has won, following on a Golden Arrow Award in 2002 and a Diamond Arrow Award in 2005. We would like to thank those CDE Centres who through the quality of their clinical and administrative work have helped us to achieve this recognition.
